About Taylor Burnham

I am a trial attorney licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Georgia, and Texas and I have dedicated my career to earning justice for my clients. 

 

A native of Marietta, Georgia, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a marketing degree. After falling in love with New Orleans for its unique culture and music scene, I moved to NOLA to attend law school at Loyola University College of Law. 

 

At Loyola, I was a member of the Trial Advocacy Program and the Criminal Defense Law Clinic where I started representing defendants in court even before graduating. I was also the president of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society. During law school, I clerked for Jason Rogers Williams & Associates, a prominent criminal defense firm at the time, Nandi Campbell (now a criminal court judge), and Judge Fredericka Homberg Wicker of the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. Through these experiences I developed my passion for trial advocacy. 

 

After law school, I clerked for Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott of Orleans Parish Civil District Court on both a domestic and general civil docket. Thereafter, I entered private practice as an associate attorney at Kinney, Ellinghausen & DeShazo, a boutique defense and corporate litigation firm. Next, I joined Morris Bart LLC, a large plaintiff’s firm, where I focused on litigating car accident, personal injury, and hurricane damage cases. In 2022, I opened Burnham Law Firm where I never stop fighting for my clients and I am dedicated to getting them the justice they deserve. 

 

As a writer, I have drafted several winning appellate briefs. My writing in the case Landry v. Nat’l. Fire Ins. Co. of Pittsburgh, et al., 2019-337 (La. App. 5 Cir. 12/30/19); 289 So.3d 177, led to a decision that created good precedent for plaintiffs holding that defendant employers can be held responsible for the punitive damages of their employees.

In my career, I have handled hundreds of personal injury cases and collected millions of dollars in damages for injury victims.  

 

I live in New Orleans with my wife and son. In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing guitar, fixing up my 1985 Ford F-150, playing soccer and tennis, and following high-profile jury trials.
